COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS

2015 closed with the successful completion of the 215,000 sq. ft. City Park 1 office development in Aberdeen for Argon Developments (North) Limited.  This Grade A development is entirely let to the Wood Group Ltd and will provide an excellent working environment for approximately 1800 occupants.

In late 2015 we commenced work on a new 150,000 sq. ft office development scheme at Bothwell Exchange in Glasgow for HFD Group Ltd, one of our longstanding clients.  The new building is pre-let to Morgan Stanley and completion is expected in October 2017.

Our pre-acquisition team assisted Hermes Real Estate Investment Managers with the purchase of Haymarket House in London which will be the subject of a phased refurbishment.

Hermes have also appointed ACG to co-ordinate the preparation of a feasibility study for a £120m redevelopment of Gunnersbury Station in Chiswick, London.  The objective being to redevelop the existing station facilities and create new residential, retail and public realm by building over the existing railway/underground line.  A planning application is expected to be lodged in the Summer of 2016.

INFRASTRUCTURE AND RENEWABLES PROJECTS

We are the Project Managers and Employer’s Agents on the new Guardbridge Energy Centre and District Heating Network for the University of St Andrews.  This ambitious project is central to the University’s strategic drive to become the UK’s first carbon neutral University and will supplement other University carbon reducing projects, such as electricity generation by wind turbines at the Kenly Windfarm site.  The 6.5mw biomass boiler and 6km of pipework will provide heating to 17 buildings on campus.

Practical Completion is due in January 2017.

The University have also instructed ACG to co-ordinate a Development Framework for the 9.6 hectare Guardbridge Site which was acquired by the University who plan to create a Research and Development Campus as well as employment opportunities.  The architects are Reiach & Hall.

Our 20 year relationship with Hillington Park continues with the Oaktree Capital Management and Patrizia Ag joint venture.  Work has commenced on site to deliver the roads and infrastructure for new purpose built showrooms for Ducati, Triumph and West Coast Harley Davidson.

Design work has also reached a conclusion on the 85,000 sq. ft. development to deliver 4 new buildings for the manufacturing, logistics and distribution industry.  We look forward to construction starting in 2016.

MEPC have continued the expansion of the Clyde Gateway site in Glasgow with a 16,150 sq. ft. Industrial Unit with ACG as Project Managers and Employer’s Agent.

Avenues World Schools of New York have appointed ACG to co-ordinate the preparation of Employer’s Requirements for their new school in London.

DEVELOPMENT MONITORING SERVICES

Our Development Monitoring Team have continued to support the Hermes/Birmingham City Council joint venture on the infrastructure works for the redevelopment of Paradise Circus, Birmingham.

Site preparation works, consisting of demolition, basement and podium slab construction, and major road diversion works are underway in order to facilitate the Phase 1 development works for this 1.8m sq. ft. office and leisure scheme.

We are pleased to welcome Alastair Anderson LLB, MCIOB as a Senior Project Manager to our Glasgow office.  Alastair joins us after training with a national contractor in London and 10 years with the family construction business.

Adams Consulting Group have been appointed by Hermes Central London Limited Partnership, a Joint Venture Company between Hermes and the Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board, to carry out Project Management, Contract Administration and CDM Coordinator Services on the Fit Out of 229,000sq ft. of Office and 51,000sq ft. of Retail at South Bank Tower.   Work is due to be complete by the end of 2016.  The Architect is TP Bennet.
